The Auto Turning Machine is a CNC turning platform available in Swiss-type sliding-headstock and gang-tool configurations. It is used to machine precision shafts, pins, bushings and short turned components from bar stock for hardware, automotive and other serial-part production.

Key Features

Sliding-Headstock Support for Slender Shafts

Swiss-type versions accept bar diameters of Ø16, Ø20, Ø26 or Ø32 mm, with machining lengths of 100, 150 or 200 mm. When a slender shaft extends beyond the cutting area, the sliding-headstock layout keeps support close to the cut and limits bending from the tool force.

Combined Swiss-Type Turning and Secondary Cuts

The Swiss-type servo spindle operates from 500 to 12,000 rpm with 5- or 7-axis powered-tool configurations. On a small shaft requiring flats, drilled features and turned diameters, multiple operations can be programmed in one clamping sequence instead of sending the part to a separate machine for every feature.

Gang-Type Layout for Short, Wider Components

Gang-type models provide a maximum swing of Ø40–80 mm and machining length up to 120 mm. For washers, collars and short cylindrical fittings, the gang-tool arrangement places successive turning tools along a compact working slide without a long-bar guidance layout.

Repeatable Tool Positioning Across Production Runs

Both configurations have a published repeat positioning rating of ±0.003 mm. When a program cycles between facing, outside-diameter turning and finishing, controlled axis returns keep the tool path tied to the same machining coordinate system on consecutive parts.

The turning model is selected from part drawings, stock diameter, length-to-diameter ratio, material and required operations. We configure the appropriate spindle and tool arrangement, workholding and feeding method, then prepare the machine around the specified tool list and machining sequence.

Quality Control

Spindle units, guideways and tool-support assemblies are checked as they are fitted. Operators carry out self-inspection at each machining and assembly stage; critical alignment work receives an additional check before power-up.

Trial cutting is used to verify the finished part geometry, runout-sensitive dimensions and the sequence of tool operations. The operating test also examines spindle behavior and bar or workpiece presentation under the approved machining cycle.

All machines receive a full pre-packing inspection of controls, guards, lubrication, appearance and specified working functions. Export cases protect the assembled machine for transport, and third-party inspection is available.
