Product Overview

The 3 Axis Cartesian Robot is a programmable X-Y-Z linear-motion system used for pick-and-place handling, fixture loading, component transfer and simple assembly. It is installed in production cells and automated workstations where parts follow repeatable straight-line paths between defined positions.

Key Features

Selectable Travel for Compact and Extended Workstations

X strokes of 300–1000 mm, Y strokes of 200–600 mm and Z strokes of 100–300 mm cover both benchtop transfers and larger fixture layouts. When the pickup nest and assembly fixture sit at different heights or offsets, the selected travel envelope reaches both without oversizing the entire workstation.

Drive Options Matched to Placement Tolerance

Ball-screw models provide ±0.01 mm repeat positioning, while the light-duty belt-drive version is rated at ±0.03 mm. A screw-driven axis is suited to repeatedly inserting a component into a close-fitting nest; belt motion serves longer, lighter transfers where a short cycle matters more than micron-level indexing.

Payload Classes from 5 to 50 kg

Available load classes are 5/10 kg, 20/30 kg and 50 kg. This separates small molded-part picking from heavier machined-part transfer, so the moving axis, support and motor configuration are sized for the workpiece and end-effector rather than for a generic maximum load.

Servo Motion for Repeated Transfer Paths

The ball-screw configuration runs at up to 0.6 m/s and the belt version at up to 1.2 m/s. Where an operator feeds parts into a nest and the robot must clear the fixture before the next cycle, the programmed acceleration and travel speed determine how quickly the handling axis returns for the next pick.

Custom 3 Axis Cartesian Robot

We build the axis arrangement around the part drawing, combined tool-and-part weight, approach direction and station spacing. The selected linear modules, drive transmission and servo package are assembled to the required working envelope, with the end-effector and controls matched to the host equipment.

Quality Control

Linear modules are checked for guideway alignment, screw or belt installation and smooth movement over the working stroke. Each assembly stage includes self-inspection and a second check before the next mechanical or electrical operation proceeds.

During powered commissioning, the robot is run between programmed reference positions with the intended tool payload. Motion tests examine homing, repeated returns, end-of-travel protection and the interaction between the axis controller and connected fixtures.

Final inspection confirms guards, cabling, connectors, fastener security and the selected motion functions before export packing. A 100% pre-packing check is completed, and third-party inspection is accepted.

FAQ

Q: How long does a customized robot take to produce?

A: Approximately 2 months after specification confirmation.

Q: How is it packed for international shipping?

A: In an export wooden case.

Q: Can a fourth rotational axis be added?

A: Yes. An optional R-axis provides 360° rotation.

Q: Which guideway type is used for 50 kg models?

A: Roller linear guideways with C3 preload.
