The 5 axis turning center is a CNC turn-mill machine combining a turning spindle with Y-axis travel, C-axis indexing and an angular B-axis machining arrangement. It is used for aerospace connectors, hydraulic valve components, medical hardware and other rotational parts with eccentric slots, side holes and angled milled features.

Key Features

12 Powered Tool Stations

The 12-station turret accepts driven tooling at every station, with a published single-tool power of at least 3.7 kW. During machining of a connector that requires end-face turning followed by cross-drilled holes, the powered tools complete both operations without moving the component to a separate mill.

True Y-axis Eccentric Machining

The specified Y-axis stroke is ±80 mm or ±100 mm, depending on machine size. When a shaft needs an offset key slot outside its rotational centerline, physical Y travel allows the live tool to reach the eccentric feature directly.

Angled B-axis and Indexed C-axis

The B-axis swings ±110°, while the C-axis provides a full indexed turning-spindle rotation range. A hydraulic fitting with holes on an inclined side face can be approached at the required angle while the same clamping datum is retained.

Custom 5 Axis Turning Center

We map the turning, cross-milling and angled-hole operations from the finished part model before choosing axis travel and driven-tool positions. Workholding, angular access and CNC coordination are configured for the exact tool sequence, then verified on a representative multi-feature component.

Quality Control

The B- and C-axis mechanical references, Y-axis center offset and driven-tool alignment are set during assembly. Axis handoff is tested so that the tool approaches the programmed workpiece coordinate after turning-to-milling transitions.

Final acceptance uses a sample with angled and off-center features, measured for feature position and angular orientation. Machine functions, safety interlocks and the complete programmed cycle are checked before packing.
